Val di Sole

Val di Sole is a valley waiting to be discovered with a wide range of things to do and see... When one thinks of Val di Sole some of the things that come to mind straight away are:

  • The ski slopes of the Skiarea Madonna di Campiglio
  • Downhill e mountain bike races
  • The cycle route and the interconnecting mountain train Dolomiti Express
  • Casolet cheese, a Val di Sole speciality

Val di Sole is also the ideal place to go walking, with paths and routes suitable for all levels. You can walk on the paths from the Great War or all the way to the highest peaks. And you can follow the same routes that you walk in the summer in the winter as well, but this time with snow shoes or alpine skis....

The traditions of the Val di Sole and its people go back a long way. Many mountain huts remain with pastures for cows to graze and many artisans carry on the traditions of the past.

Shopping in Madonna di Campiglio

Shopping in Madonna di Campiglio ranges from gastronomic delights to local craft products to high-end fashion. But Madonna di Campiglio is much more than just shopping.

Only 15 minutes by car from Hotel Tevini, Madonna di Campiglio is a splendid mountain village, surrounded by ski pistes including the famous 3Tre. Nestling in the heart of the Brenta Dolomites, Campiglio offers its visitors stunning panoramas and pleasurable walks.

Take your choice from the bars in Piazza Righi for an aperitivo, or one of the typical restaurants to taste the local specialities.

In winter, the Madonna di Campiglio Skiarea offers a ski area of over 150 km of connecting pistes starting directly from Daolasa... two minutes from Hotel Tevini.

Things to do in Val di Sole when it rains

Val di Sole offers plenty of options even when it rains. Just a short walk from Hotel Tevini is Daolasa’s Percorso Sensoriale, a short trail to be done barefoot, protected from the rain by the thick canopy of the woods.

MBut if you really don’t want to get wet, there are plenty of other things to do. Two museums worth mentioning are the Museo della Civiltà Solandra, looking at the traditions of the local area, and the Mmape Museo dell'Ape, all about bees, and only 7 km from the hotel.

And of course for warmth and wellbeing, there is nothing better than our Goccia d'Oro Spa.

THE DOLOMITES

When you live at the foot of mountains that have been defined as the most beautiful in the world, you can’t fail to appreciate how fortunate you are. Whether you like walking and hiking or simply want to take in their breathtaking beauty, the Dolomites are there for everyone.

A UNESCO World Heritage site since 2009, the Brenta Dolomites are the perfect setting for those who enjoy rock climbing.

For those who prefer to take it easy and favour gastronomy over exertion, our advice is to visit the mountain refuges in the Dolomites, which will also allow you to take in some amazing views.

The Parks, we are surrounded by Nature

Val di Sole is ideally located between two National Parks: the Adamello Brenta and Stelvio Parks, giving you the possibility to explore one or both, either alone or accompanied by a local guide..

One of the most special moments of the year when the Stelvio Park is especially worth a visit is the Autumn, when you can hear the roar of the stags during the mating season. But we could go on for hours listing the things to see and do in the Parks, with or without children, the local fauna and flora and to enjoy nature in this wonderful open air museum. Towering peaks, lakes, you never tire of the splendid Dolomites.

The nearby Val di Non

Leaving Val di Sole in the direction of Trento, following the road parallel with the river Noce, you arrive in the equally beautiful Val di Non. A valley with canyons, lakes and castles and especially famous for its Melinda apples.

Val di Non is a large open valley and you can see its reflection in the San Giustina lake that takes its name from the namesake dam. In the summer months with the river at full flow, it is possible to arrive here on rafts, following the river Noce almost for its whole length.

Places to visit that shouldn’t be missed include one of Europe’s most interesting retreats, San Romedio (you can arrive here along the path dug in the rock face), and Castel Thun, an antique aristocratic home.
